| The Great Bustard is one of the largest species of European bird. Male Great Bustards are also the heaviest of all flying birds. In former times they occurred in the natural steppes Eurasian, Today the remaining populations of this species survive in areas of cereal farmland. Most of these populations are threatened by agricultural transformation, urban development and expansion of infrastructures such as roads, railways and powerlines.
